Aero Glass, the transparent background feature in Windows 7 makes a comeback in Windows 10.
Microsoft introduced two options of Aero Glass effect in Windows 10 Build 10074, which was released in April.
One of the options is Transparent Glass, while the other one is Frosted Glass, which gives a Blur effect.
Though you can’t change between the options from Windows Settings, you can do so by simply editing an option in the Windows Registry. (Thanks Techjourney)
How to enable Aero Glass Transparency in Windows 10 (Frosted Glass and Transparent)
1. First bring up the Run command by pressing Win+R key combination.
2. Enter Regedit.exe in the run window, and hit ok.
3. Now navigate to the following tab in the Windows Registry.
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionThemesPersonalize
4. You will find a DWORD key called EnableBlurBehind, in the right hand side pane, under the Personalize Tab, in the Registry/
5. Double click on the EnableBlurBehind key, and change the value to 1 to enable the Frosted Glass Blur effect. or
Change the value to 0 to enable Transparency.
6. You will have to restart the computer, for the changes to be reflected. But sometimes, the changes are reflected immediately.

This is what the Frosted Glass effect (Blur) looks like in Windows 10.
And this is what the Windows 10 Transparent Glass effect looks like.
As you can see, it is not clear glass, but a coloured glass effect, which uses the colour scheme of Windows.
The final version of Windows will include only one option. When Windows 10 Build 10074 was released, Microsoft originally asked users to vote for Blur effect or Transparent Glass. The Redmond company will gather feedback from users before finalizing on the effect, which will be used as default in Windows 10.
Clear Glass Transparency in Windows 10:
According to a report by Softpedia, several users have posted their feedback regrading the Aero effect they want in Windows 10, at the Windows Uservoice forums. And they aren’t backing the Blur effect. The users have thanked Microsoft for including the Transparent Glass effect, but are displeased with the colour-filled Glass effect.
What they want is a full glass effect. That is, a Clear Glass Transparent effect,(but with only a slight blur). A comment regarding this, which was posted last week, has garnered over 345 votes at the Uservoice forums.
Hopefully Microsoft will take note of it and bring a Clear Glass option to Windows 10 soon.
Personally, I think Microsoft should let users pick the effect of their choice, from the Settings App (Personalization). And I don’t like the Frosted Glass Effect either, it is seriously bad.Advanced SystemCare Privacy Sweep now clears Facebook private data tooHow to change the date and time format in Windows 10
